The Karola Glacier is quite close to the road Lhasa/Gyantse, a breathtaking view of the Karola Glacier is an unforgettable experience. In fact, climate change is raising the temperature in Tibet by as much as a third of a degree a year – that's twice as fast as the rest of the world. The Karola glacier, has melted halfway up the mountain in the past twenty years. The ice today is melting as fast as seven per cent a year. Karola is 9 sq km wide. Imagine that Tibet has a total of 3700 glaciers and most of them are not self sustaining i.e the snow fall is lesser than snow melt.THE GLACIERS ARE INDEED MELTING AND IN 20 YEARS IT WILL AFFECT 3 BILLION PEOPLE. THANKFULLY WE LIVE NEAR CANADA- THE WATER WONDERLAND
0THIS USED TO BE NEAR THE ROAD JUST 15 YEARS AGOCAN YOU SEE THE SCALE OF ME WALKING VS THE GLACIER
