Perhaps the single biggest physical experiment on my part, it was tantamount to doing the NY Marathon- a whopping 11.5 hr trek racing against the prospect of sunset if delays are encountered. Mt. Fitzroy is the crown jewel of the Argentinian Patagonian icefield inside the Los Glaciaries N.P. Only 1000 visitors came here 10 years ago and now is visited by 50000/yr. The Trek consists of easy ,moderate and difficult sections. The views are stunning and changes every Km one walks. Several glaciers, lovely glacial river valleys, Beech wood forests and variety of birds appear as one walks.Different views of Mt. Fitzroy in varying light is indeed a photographers delight to look forward to.
